Children of our Heavenly Father

Last week I asked Rev. Stephen Goode from Gap Baptist Church in Brisbane to share his thoughts on their recent trip to Xining Children's Home. Life touches life

The people of Brisbane City in Queensland, Australia, and Xining City, Qinghai Province, China, live about 9000 kms apart and have very little in common. So when a church family from Brisbane came to visit Xining Children's Home, the 25 Australians didn't know how they'd adapt to Chinese culture, or to the children. One of the group, David Fielder, is a friend of mine who moved to Australia some years ago, and he asked the leader of the group, his pastor, Stephen Goode, to send us some feedback after the trip. Disney doesn’t discriminate

This little boy made sure he had his ticket securely in hand before departing for a day at Disneyland

Thanks to Disneyland Hong Kong, who gave us 100 tickets, World Refugee Day on June 20th became a memorable day for some refugee and asylum seeker families. They had fun!  A grateful mother wrote me a Thank You note which reminded me that having a good time is a rare luxury for some families.

Tooth Fairies caught on film

In early June I travelled to Qinghai to meet with a TV crew who had come to film our work with orphans and children. I was excited because it meant that the residents of Hong Kong would hear about it too! Over seven million people live here and only a very small percentage knows that Christian Action serves abandoned children on the Tibetan Plateau.

There's a newspaper in the USA called the The Lulu Van Hook Times. I was recently surprised to find myself listed as a hero in the newspaper! The circulation of that paper isn't wide. In fact, only one copy was printed! But it has become my valued possession for two reasons...
