Communist Party Secretary Tells Qinghai Media to Report on Christian Action's Good Work

Yes!!! The Secretary of the Qinghai Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, Mr Qiang Wei, prompted national media coverage of Christian Action's work! How did that happen? And why is it so important?

In March and April last year I told you about my involvement with the Qinghai Province's Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).  I am a strong believer in constant engagement with Communist Party officials and this year, as the newly elected convener of Hong Kong's CPPCC delegates, I took the opportunity to share the plight of our children with government officials.  I shared how the Christian Action community,  including readers like you, had rallied around children like Dou Ge, who had the brain tumor and about our gift to Xiao Shan of her bionic ears.  All the officials listened intently.  And that is how it came to be that Qinghai's media descended on the Xining Children's Home!

As a result of Mr Qiang Wei's help, we managed to spread the word about Christian Action's loving, caring work, so the plight of Qinghai's children was broadcasted by all Qinghai's news outlets, China's Xing Hua national news (which is China's equivalent of CNN), including my two minute TV interview with them, and also a 20 minute segment on their website, Xing Hua Net news, which is viewed nationally.

During the weeklong CPPCC meeting several government officials who had known me previously, spoke to me.   The Mongolian chief of Dou Ge's County came to thank us, the Huangnan Tibetan Civil Affairs Bureau Chief also thanked us.  A representative of the Muslim community, who has known me for twelve years, said that CA is doing compassionate work in the name of God and not evangelizing, which is why, according to him, I was made Convener of the HK Macao CPPCC delegation.

Please continue praying for Ruo Ruo and Jun Jun, the two girls I mentioned last week. I had just returned from a full week of all day meetings at the Qinghai CPPC Conference at that time. The week was gruelling to say the least.   But I thank God for leading us many years ago to accept the invitation to be a part of this Conference and thus help spread the news throughout China that all children, especially the vulnerable and disadvantaged, are worthy of love and care.
