Stop The Press!
I was all prepared this week to send you a moving story written by one of our adopted children, but something urgent has come up and I feel I must tell you about it. It's actually a different kind of 'moving' despite handicaps!
Three weeks ago I wrote about Mark MacAlpine running a half marathon on February 20th to raise funds for the children in our Homes.
I have just received news that Mark’s supporters have helped raise HK$100,000!
The reason I am sharing this is because of something Mark said after he finished the marathon. He emailed, "My time was slower than last year by two minutes in better running conditions. The hip joint is seizing up! Once I get my replacement hip maybe I can speed up."
I find it tremendously moving that this Professor was determined to run at least half a marathon, despite the fact that he needs a hip replacement!
Mark has moved through his difficulties for the sake of so many children with physical handicaps. Please encourage him with a donation for his sacrificial act by using the Donate Now button below. Thank you!
