What Love (and Money) Can Do!
Two years ago I asked you to pray for baby Qun, who was only a few days old when she came to Xining Children's Home. She had a rare congenital condition that caused all four of her limbs to be deformed.
Thank you for praying! Qun is continuing to make progress. Your financial support and the miracle of today's medical procedures are all God's answers to our prayers.
Qun has come to Hong Kong several times for treatment. In 2013 she underwent surgery to restore the mobility of her legs. She is almost three years old now and recently returned to Hong Kong to complete the next phase of her treatment.
On 9 October, Qun underwent an operation which would have been a marathon for an adult, yet this little toddler’s body coped with it all. For eight hours, three surgeons worked to remove muscle and skin from Qun’s back, and then transfer it to her right arm – all this aimed at growing a bicep to increase function and mobility.
Dr. Sally Cheng reported that the operation was successful, and they expect her to be able to fully extend and retract her arm in 8-12 weeks. Qun has continued to recover here in Hong Kong with her loving Hong Kong foster family. Look at the joy in those photographs!
Last Friday, Qun underwent another minor surgical procedure which will allow greater flexibility of her toes, and greatly improve her ability to walk.
I long for Heaven, to see each child fully restored! Please continue to pray for Qun’s recovery in the days and weeks ahead.
