Pray, Pray, 'Rain Away'!

The weather report for Saturday June 4, was RAIN, RAIN,and more RAIN. I knew rain would discourage people from coming to volunteer for our Flag Day, and it would mean others would hurry past instead of stopping to donate, so I went down on my knees and began praying!

God surely heard our prayers!! He held back the rain until the afternoon, and we had an incredibly SUNNY Flag Day!

As a result of the good weather, we had a high turn-out rate of volunteers. Over 80% of those registered joined us, and we received more than 970 flag bags filled with donations - and more are still on the way! We'll wait for the final donation amount from the bank, and will know how much was raised sometime in early July.

There was no rain, and it was certainly hot, but our resilient team toughed it out and did all they could to raise more funds for the underprivileged in Hong Kong. I'm grateful to all who participated to make the day a resounding success, and to the public, on behalf of all of our service users:
