Forever Grateful

I am so grateful for you! Over the past year my staff have told me of the bleak, lonely, grinding path that many of our clients are stuck in. And I shared those stories with you in my weekly blog posts. Your responses - in prayers and action and gifts have made a forever difference for many!

Here are some encouraging updates -

In 2020 we were alarmed by the growing number of Hong Kong residents who didn’t have enough to eat. In response we opened a Food Station in the Yau Tsim Mong area. Although we had barely enough funds to operate we none-the-less provided food to 1,000 people a month. This year it grew to 1,500 per month. Starting with faith the size of a mustard seed the Food Programme is now on track to feed 2000 people by 2022!

Hong Kong’s Ethnic Minority population, a traditionally underserved group, faced a host of new challenges in 2021. After the closure of our SHINE Centre in Jordan we continued to serve them at our Mongkok Service Centre (MKC). The programme was integrated with MKC’s Food Programme and After-school Child Care Programmes. MKC’s Youth Ambassador programme is also working hard to increase its number of ethnic minority youth members.

This year we were also able to bring residents of Kwun Tong a new community sales outlet so they can get more affordable goods and we opened a training centre for residents in rural Yuen Long!

Lastly, thank you again for being a part of the Christian Action family. I am so grateful for your calls, emails, prayers, donations, volunteering, networking and all the changes and improvements God has led us through this year. As we bid farewell to 2021 and welcome 2022, all I can do is praise the Lord:

“Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name;
make known among the nations what he has done,
and proclaim that his name is exalted.
Sing to the Lord, for he has done glorious things;
let this be known to all the world."

Isaiah 12:4-5 (NIV)
