Planting Seeds for the Future
“The Youth Assistance Programme grant enabled me to continue and complete my studies. Because of Christian Action’s generous support, I can now look forward to a bright future,” - Ren Qing Cuo Ji
Newly graduated social worker Ren Qing Cuo Ji wasn’t supposed to break free from poverty. Born in a poor farming community on the Tibetan Plateau, her family struggled to make ends meet. Her parents had just enough to survive and pay the high school tuition for her and her siblings, but nothing more.
Cuo Ji worked diligently throughout high school. She passed the university entrance exam in 2016 and qualified for the college of her choice. And that is where her dream would have ended were it not for our donors!
Cuo Ji received a subsidy from our Youth Assistance Programme, which covered her college fees and living expenses. She graduated last year with a bachelor's degree in Social Work from Qinghai University for Nationalities and returned to our Hainan Children’s Home to work as a Social Worker for a period!
Because of donations from exceptionally generous supporters like Dr. and Mrs. Yue and their friends, approximately 2,284 educational assistance grants have been award over the past 14 years! Last month we held a “Youth Assistance Distribution Ceremony” and this academic year (2021/2022), we are proud to announce that we will be helping 101 Qinghai youths with their educational needs!
Please donate to our Youth Assistance Programme, so we can help many more children like Cuo Ji!
