Helping Women Get Gainful Employment
At Christian Action, we are continually helping disadvantaged women along the path of self sufficiency. With this in mind, together with Kowloon Federation of Associations, Yau Tsim Mong District Office, and Kowloon Federation of Associations Women Affairs Committee, we organized the “Brighten Your Sky” Career Fair to assist women in finding suitable employment on 15th September 2023, at Henry G. Leong Yaumatei Community Centre.
More than 500 lady job-seekers visited the job fair, including Ms. Choi, who said: “after being a housewife for two years I feel isolated from society; I want to reintegrate. In order to work and take care of my family and the kids, I'm looking for a part-time job. I hope that the government will boost after-school care services so that it will be simpler for women to return to full-time employment.”
There were more than 2,700 jobs at 21 companies that were “competing for talent”, including those in the healthcare, catering, retail, service, and hospitality industries. I hope all the female job-seekers find something that fits with their skills and schedule.
Since 1993, Christian Action's Training Services Division has offered a variety of vocational skill training and retraining programmes with the aim of bridging the gap between employers and employees and assisting both parties to achieve their objectives.
