Helping Our Friends

When a friend is unemployed you help them to find a job. That is precisely the action that Christian Action is continually taking when it hosts job fairs, like the one we just hosted on February 21st at the Amoy Plaza in Kwun Tong.

Funded by the Employees Retraining Board (ERB), the Fair had roughly 1,000 visitors. At the booths they could search and apply for the perfect job, be interviewed and get instant results. There were a record number of 400 applicants, of which 100 received job offers that very day!

At the Fair we posted 2,800 hospitality, security, property management, catering and retail sector job openings across 33 brands. Remuneration for these positions ranged from HK$25,000 per month for full-time workers to HK$100 per hour for part-time workers.

Mr. Tifson Wong, Assistant Human Resources Manager at Human Health praised the event: “by the middle of April my company’s new Tsim Sha Tsui Centre, will have at least 50 unfilled vacancies, including entry-level positions that don’t require medical knowledge, so I think we definitely came to the right place to recruit.”

Ms. Milky Chiu, Human Resources and Administrative Supervisor at Taste of Asia said: “Our Group needs a lot of new employees. We have 80 job vacancies, including those for waiters, cooks, bakers and cleaners, amongst other positions. I am overjoyed to see such a tremendous response- we received 20 applications in a single morning!”

Thank you to the entire Training Services Division team for your dedication and extraordinary resilience. Thank you also to the ERB and lastly, to all our friends in need who have trusted us to take action and help them land a job.
