Christian Action Asia - Now an Approved Charity in the US!
I am so excited to tell you that we are now registered in the US as Christian Action Asia! We have been granted full tax exempt public charity status for US taxpayers! This is huge news for the many adoptive parents in the US who have told me they want to support the Children's Homes in Qinghai. Of course, this is even bigger news for those in Qinghai who will benefit from the support we receive! We now need to register in every US state where we plan to fundraise.
To understand why I am so excited it's important to understand what Christian Action is doing in Qinghai. The goal of the work is threefold: Firstly, it is to save the lives of disabled and abandoned children. This involves anything from incubators for premature babies to lifesaving surgeries. Secondly, we do everything possible to help every child live life to the fullest. This is one of the hardest areas for prospective donors to grasp because it lacks headline grabbing power. And yet it is essential as it has to do with the development of children - even those who are disabled. This not only means providing a child's daily care, but most importantly, lavishing love on them, facilitating foster care and adoptions and also corrective medical treatment and rehabilitation. Lastly, in 2007 we opened Qinghai province's first and only Children's Rehabilitation Center. Through the centre Christian Action not only helps the disabled children in the orphanage, but also the children of local Qinghai parents who really don't want to abandon their children. It's our sincere hope that this will eventually bring to an end the practice of abandoning helpless children.
In 2007 the Qinghai government, impressed with our ten years' work with orphaned and abandoned children, asked us to use our expertise to start SEVEN children's homes and rehabilitation centres across the whole province! Since then the government has opened the Huangnan Children's Home which has 300 children who need the help I've outlined above. The remaining five homes are all slated to open by the end of 2011. This rapid expansion means that I really covet your prayers and financial support!
I have another piece of good news to share. A Christian Action field worker, Adam Voysey, worked for CA in the early 1990's as a Senior Manager in the Vietnamese Boat People Camps. He managed almost all of our programs across roughly 14 camps. These included dental services; pregnant women's programs; employment and job training, and information centers and tuck shops. In the mid-90s it was Adam who spearheaded and managed the China program for me. He is also an accomplished photographer and you may have noticed his name on some of our spectacular photos in the Tibetan Plateau region. Adam left CA and moved on to live and work in the US for a few years. But now he will again be working hard to establish Christian Action Asia as a viable entity in the USA! I am so grateful that I have the help of someone I already know and have worked with for several years.
It has been such a privilege to serve Qinghai's disadvantaged children. There have been so many improvements, despite many times of severe trial. In order to rise to the challenge of helping with all the additional children's homes I plead with you to join with us - in prayer, as a volunteer, and as a donor.

Congratulatins on achieving approval for charitable status in the US! If and when the opportunity arises I will tell my US friends about your charity.
Thanks for sharing and congratulations for your success in getting Christian Action Asia to become an approved charity in the US.
Thank you so much for your blessings and reading my blog. We definitely need funding from the US community, as there will be 4 orphanages this year that we are involved with.
Thank God for His bountiful blessings to our meaningful work in Qinghai.
Blessings,
