Under Our Shelter

For thousands of people of many nationalities who are forced to flee their own home-lands for a range of reasons, Hong Kong is known to be a place where they will find shelter.
Capturing that history of care, and telling that story without words, is what we did recently by holding a photographic exhibition titled "Under our Shelter".
From October 19-28, our photographic exhibit told the story of Hong Kong's role as a long-standing place of refuge for people from all over the world. Some photos were taken from our own photo archives, where we've documented our care for refugees since the 1950's. Other photos were donated by a private collector, and some photos were taken by Alexander Treves, a famous documentary photographer.
I am so thankful for the ways God has moved Christian Action from the days I first began my journey with CA at the Kai Tak open camp, and how well you have supported all our caring endeavours. How amazing it is that for over fourteen years we've had CFR, a one-of-a-kind place where refugees can find stability, community, and the resources to gain a sense of ownership over their lives once again.
Overall, the exhibit drew in a variety of people, and I believe that God moved many people to see the needs of the refugees among us. I pray that each person who saw the exhibit received a fresh compassion for their needy neighbours, and compelled us all to seek a more just society for the people of all nations.
