Our Sixth Three-legged Walk!
For six years we have had a fun-filled day with a purpose as we have gathered to support children in need.
Again this year it was a wonderful event, in a beautiful location thanks to Clearwater Bay Golf and Country Club. There were even more challenges this year.
Apart from having legs tied together for a three-legged walk, this year we also helped participants understand what it is like to have hands that cannot hold or pick up objects. Our participants, all wearing oven mitts, were asked to pick up and hold various objects!
The event this year was packed with new, exciting features for families and participants to enjoy. All the activities aimed to help participants understand the needs of others in our community and in our Qinghai Children's Home.
There was football training by ChelseaFC Soccer School, Hong Kong, the Charity Foot Golf tournament, and the Qinghai Children Life Experiential Workshop, highlighting the challenges that so many of our little ones face in Qinghai.
I am so thankful to all the staff and volunteers who worked hard to make the event possible. We have received around $500,000 from the event, which will be a great help to those we are serving.
A special 'Thank You' to Heidi Chu, our Event Ambassador, Sammie Leung, our Caring Ambassador, and Leslie Santos, our Caring Coach. Thanks also to Board members Vincent Lam and William Chan for attending and sponsoring, and to Tony Turner, Peter Fung, and Dr. Yue for sponsoring the event.
To God be the glory, and I pray that our next charity walk will continue to grow the contributions to our ministry.
