Serve Your Neighbours through CA Friends

Friends of Christian Action Donation Programme is a new campaign which has just been launched by our fundraising team. CA's social and humanitarian services in Hong Kong and Qinghai need regular and ongoing support, so the campaign is encouraging regular monthly donations. This committed support will build stronger support for our essential programmes.

This regular support will help single mothers like Ping, who came to Hong Kong in 2003 with her son. Low-paying jobs were all she could hope for due to her lack of qualifications. As a result the relationship between Ping and her son became very stressful. However, after Ping began bringing her son to our after school care programme in Mongkok, and with additional counselling, their relationship began to change.

Today, with CA's guidance, Ping has gained a regular part-time job. She works for a non-profit organisation that helps people who are in similar situations as the one in which she found herself.

Ping's story serves as a reminder of the invaluable impact that The Friends of CA campaign and other programmes can have on the lives of those in need around us.

I have a lot of hope for the Friends of CA campaign. I believe it will further our mission to educate the public about all of the communities right here in our city who are not being served, in addition to our service in Qinghai. As our fundraising team faithfully hits the streets each day, I pray that they would be given confidence and guidance from God so that their conversations with people would stir compassion and the desire to serve the struggling people in their neighbourhoods.
