Thought for the Week
The programme, Thought for the Week on RTHK, holds a special place in my heart. Through this programme, I am able to share God's Word by sharing inspiring stories about the fruitful work we've done. This is my 18th year of sharing CA's work with you, so I've decided to make it really special by telling you a really special story.
It is about Dou Ge, a Tibetan Mongolian girl who experienced an amazing healing journey ten years ago, and who is now a source of inspiration to everyone.
Dou Ge suffered a severe headache that made her lose the ability to use her limbs, and then fall into a temporary coma. Her MRI scans showed a brain tumour. We were told that she had no chance of survival, and perhaps a few months left to live.
Although the news was discouraging, I did not give up on the hope that Dou Ge would get well. By faith, and with God's prompting, we took steps to bring Dou Ge to Hong Kong. Miraculously, a brain surgeon saw my blog post about Dou Ge and he reached out to me to offer help. The doctors believed that prompt surgery would save her, and they were right. She had a successful surgery!
Dou Ge was able to regain control of her limbs and to walk normally. It was a sight to behold to finally see her life saved in spite of the odds against her!
Recently I went to Qinghai with influencers from Malaysia and Hong Kong, and I took the opportunity to reconnect with Dou Ge. I was so pleased to find that she recently got married and has started a new chapter in her life! We had a lovely lunch together, and I gave her a few wedding gifts, including a memorable photo album and a storybook which is based on her life. We were so happy to see the beautiful and radiant woman she is today!
Sharing the story of Dou Ge with our listeners reminded me of how powerful, and how faithful God is. At times, when we are losing hope, HE has reminded us that we should never give up on our children. May Dou Ge's story show you how powerful hope is in the face of adversity, and inspire you to never give up!
I encourage you to listen to my sharing on RTHK and be blessed. Click here to listen.
