It really is 'More Blessed to Give than to Receive'

Here’s some news which doesn’t make the headlines! Our Christian Action colleagues are among the most generous people I know. Over 60 staff have donated to support our $10,000 Reasons campaign!

Ada is a senior manager of our China team. She manages services and activities for our children in Qinghai. She regularly witnesses the gaps in our services and our funding. When she heard about the $10,000 Reasons campaign, she and her husband both donated the full amount of the government handout. She said, “It wasn’t a hard decision! Hong Kong fares better than China on the socioeconomic level.”

Ada has observed mass job cuts across Hong Kong due to the recession brought on by the COVID pandemic, and she knows that CA looks after our staff at times like these.

Another colleague, Armanda, turned to her friends, and challenged them about donating. She said, “My friends had no doubt that donations to the $10,000 Reasons campaign will be well used and will do a great deal of good.”

Our church members have also stepped up to this challenge. Alicia first heard about our work at church, and subsequently joined a field trip to Qinghai in 2015 to see our Children’s Homes. She was touched when she saw the devotion of the staff, so when she heard about the $10,000 Reasons campaign, she was ready to support it. Another church member, Linda, has followed our activities for five years, and she too became `a cheerful giver’.

Jesus said, “It is more blessed to give than receive”. Our many compassionate donors and I have the utmost faith in God’s love and strength, and know that He will bless us as we help those in need. Let’s together support our children as they go through one of the toughest years of our time.

I pray that you too will respond to our $10,000 Reasons campaign and help those who are unable to help themselves. Click here to Learn more about Christian Action's services.
