No One is Insignificant to God
Tucked away at the end of Acts 9 is the story of a disciple named Tabitha. The Bible says she “was always doing good and helping the poor”. Her story teaches us that God can use what may seem insignificant to us, to influence those we have been called to serve.
During this fifth wave of COVID-19, there have been many Tabithas who have teamed up with us to help the poor. Charity partners, for example, immediately gave in-kind donations. This resulted into 2,500 ‘Emergency COVID-19 Relief Packs’ being assembled in record time and over 6,000 needy individuals being helped!
Emergency COVID-19 Relief Packs have also been possible because of supporters like you. Packs contain rapid test kits, a variety of drugs, Chinese medicines, face masks, sanitizers, supermarket cash vouchers, and other anti-epidemic materials.
And then there is Centaline Charity Fund, the YEH family and others who have helped the sub-divided flat tenants with 2 months’ rental or emergency needs caused by isolation / quarantine. Dr. Charmaine Tse in her trademark energetic way, not only gave generously to the Campaign, but also rallied her friends to give and organised volunteers to pack the Covid-19 bags with fever medication and cough syrups!
Christian Action has focused on Hong Kong’s poorest and their families - those who aren’t included in the government’s social welfare system. Please consider being a ‘Tabitha’ like those mentioned above and the many more listed HERE.
This Easter, let us remember that in Christ we are significant. That through His death and His victorious resurrection we might have a renewed beginning!
Thank you for bringing joy, peace and love to those God cares for the most!
“May God reward you and meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus” - Phil 4:19.
