Sing to the Lord a New Song!
Everyone who knows me knows that I absolutely love to sing. I loved it when I was a starry-eyed youngster hoping for a big break and I love it now, as I sing praises to my Saviour and Redeemer!
Five years ago I was privileged to meet a fellow lover of singing, a 17-year-old girl named Xia Meng. But for Xia Meng singing means far more. She has been blind from birth, and when she was brought to the Xining Children’s Home she had hepatitis B and severe stunting. She also had the sweetest, most beautiful voice.
Xia Meng arrived knowing no-one and was understandably afraid. She received physical therapy and medical treatment to help with her physical needs, while our social worker and the Children’s Home staff lavished love on her.
Today Xia Meng is 22 years old. The beautiful voice that once filled the halls and floors of Xining Children’s Home now fills Bridge Home, where she lives and receives rehabilitation treatment. Her singing continues to bolster her self-confidence and helps her to make many friends amongst those at the Bridge Home.
I am so grateful to God for all the kind people He brings our way to help our children. Xia Meng is one of the most gifted singers and brightest girls I have ever met and she has so much potential in music. Please pray for God's continued provision for Xia Meng and all the children we serve. To Him be all the glory!
Christian Action began its cooperation with the Qinghai Provincial Government in 1997. In May of 1998, the Xining Children’s Home opened, becoming the first children’s home to be co-managed by a charity organisation in partnership with the local government in Qinghai. Please donate and support other children like Xia Meng.
