Sing Yin Secondary School to the Rescue

Love is a verb. It’s not a theory or emotion. We see it in the most famous bible passage in the world, John 3:16:

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life”.

Christian Action gives schools and organizations the opportunity to love others by volunteering with us. This can be done in and around our Head Office and also at many of our other locations throughout Hong Kong.

Sing Yin Secondary School is located close to our Christian Action Head Office. They recently had seven of their students volunteer with us as part of their "Love Your Neighbour” class project. The students distributed hot meal boxes and fresh fruit to senior citizens and families in need. They spent time with them, listened to their stories, helped them to regain their strength and confidence and establish deeper connections within their neighbourhood.

In my blog post last week I wrote about the question of ‘how’ we should serve others. It is something in which Christian Action has developed enormous expertise. When students or members of your organization volunteer with us, they will be helping to transform lives and sometimes, the greatest transformation taking place is in the hearts and minds of your own volunteers!

"I've completed other volunteer activities in the past, such as handing out food vouchers, but this was the first time I got to interact directly with the elderly and hear about their lives!” Jane, a student.
