Kerry’s Clubhouses Sponsor Hot-Meals for The Needy!

“We put our skills into helping the community, which not only demonstrates teamwork but also instils in me a value for the spirit of love and cooperation that gives life optimism and hope. Volunteering can best be understood when I meet the recipients personally, sharing small conversations, especially when I hand a lunch box to them. Their eyes shine with gratitude and they utter a sincere "thank you", it really melts my heart.”
- Mr. Lee Ying Lam, Head Chef, Dragons Range Club House.

Food is a gift. We thank God for it at the start of every meal, we sustain ourselves with it and we celebrate life’s major milestones with it.

In our monthly give-away of basic food packs to 560 families and the distribution of 96 cook-chill meal boxes per day at the Mong Kok Food Station, recently my staff informed me about pockets of Mong Kong residents who are so poor that they frequently can’t provide their family with a hot meal. This was not acceptable and I began praying and wondering if there were any upstanding, civic-minded corporations who could help.

Together, We Can Make a Change, One Mooncake at a Time

“But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed.” Luke 14:13-14a. (NIV)

Dear friend,

Everyone who knows me knows that I just cannot pass-up a good deal. My reasoning is: ‘why pay more for something later on, when I can get it right now for cheaper?!' Not only is it more fiscally responsible, but it also saves me the stress and hassle of shopping later on!

Soon we will all be sitting at our respective dining tables and savoring the blessings of family at our Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations. It is a time to give thanks. The good news is that Christian Action has a Special Offer on mooncake pricing!

Summertime

Ah summer! - vacations, long weekends, the beach, outdoor restaurants with friends in the cool of the evening, the sound of ice-cubes clinking in a glass. There’s laughter, nourishment of body and spirits, maybe even wonder and joy - and a newfound perspective on life? What do all of these have in common, they are times of refreshment; for us parents and our children, they are the building blocks of some of life’s happiest memories!

At Christian Action we’re doing our utmost to bring times of refreshment to some of Hong Kong’s most disadvantaged children. For them there is no vacation, weekend escape and in many cases not even a trip to the beach or a memorable restaurant meal. Which is why the children get so excited and cherish the memory of events we can put on for them.

We’re Partnering With The Police to Combat Crime!

Fraud is on the rise in Hong Kong. Almost every week the media has a new story about scammers swindling someone out of their savings - and sadly the victims are increasingly the elderly, poor and uneducated. In one recent story, for example, a 79 and a 92 year old woman were conned out of a total of HK$330,000! The culprits were caught by the Kwun Tong Police.

Fortunately for Christian Action, and those in our surrounding community, we have a very proactive police force and local officials. And when they invited us to collaborate with them on a five month anti-fraud program we jumped at the opportunity!

One Thousand Attend our Inaugural Multi-ethnic Carnival!

He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
Micah 6:8
NIV

In Hong Kong, like in so many countries around the world, ethnic minorities are often misunderstood and discriminated against. Because the problem is so widespread and has existed for so long, it is often accepted as the norm. God however, commands us to ‘act justly’ - and that means taking action.
