A Walking Testimony

Three months ago Kelvin Ho, aka 'Kelvin the Mobilizer', began serving as the physiotherapist and clinical supervisor of Xining Children's Rehabilitiation Centre in Qinghai. His experience as a volunteer helped to clarify his goals, so he wasted no time getting down to doing what he does best: mobilizing. Tong-Tong is a walking testimony to that!

Returning the Kindness

Twenty men gathered on a beach near Sai Kung in Hong Kong recently. They are engineers, artists, businessmen, drivers, fishermen, husbands, fathers, brothers and sons, all in the prime of life. They are also completely dependent on others for support. No matter how desperately they want to work, they would be breaking the law if they did so. The result would mean immediate imprisonment.

"My Country"

When the first child from Xining Children's Home was adopted internationally in 2001, we had our first celebration! To date, 161 children have joined their forever families overseas. A total of only four children have been adopted by Swedish families, all of them in 2004.

This summer, those four precious girls and their families came back to visit us. While they waited in the lobby of Xining Children's Home, they were thrilled to see the display of a world map, with photographs of each of the four girls in Sweden! It was great for them to see this heart-warming indication that they had not been forgotten.

From Grassroots boy to Iron Man

On November 3rd Mike Chan will participate in the 'BMW Destination X Ironman 70.3' International Invitation in Taiwan. The triathlon will include a 1.9km swim, 90km bike ride and 21.1km run, and is likely to take up to seven hours to complete! Mike says he's been training for this for four years, but the truth is that his entire life has been an unofficial marathon.
