Share Food, Share Love

“My husband has just been diagnosed with dementia and I am his sole Carer. This is a tough blow at his stage in life, especially when money is tight. Life does leave me feeling lonely and disconnected at times.

Two years ago a friend introduced me to Christian Action's Choi Wan Centre, and it has become a lifesaver to us. Every weekday we pick up a free bento food box. It’s still hot when we get it home, which saves me both money and time on food preparation!

Another thing that I love about the Choi Wan Centre is that I have made friends with a group of Seniors there and they have become a support network to me. I ask God to continue blessing Christian Action, so that other elderly people like me might have support and care.”

A Fabulous Fundraiser – Without Rain!

Our annual ‘3-Legged Charity Walk’ fundraiser at The Clearwater Bay Golf & Country Club was a huge success! It was held last Saturday with almost 700 people attending and over HK$650,000 was donated!

Many of you prayed for the event as rain was forecast for the day. Thankfully God miraculously held off the heavy rain until right after the outdoor activities were done! There were tons of fun activities, with the game booths being the most popular among the children.

Mother’s Day Miracle

Can you believe it is 14 years since I started this blog?! Where has the time gone?!

On my ‘About Me’ page I wrote: ‘It was quite a shock when God gave me a vision to go to China and help orphaned and disabled children. As a mother myself, it gives me great joy to now see helpless children getting what they need: love, and professional care and for many, a new family.’

The Eternal Impact of Mentorship

Morris had a problem. Like so many of his school mates he preferred playing games on his phone to studying.

He also had a short fuse, so much so, that on one occasion he hurled his phone to the ground, angry after losing playing his mobile game.

But then one of our staff invited him to join our Child Development Fund (CDF) project. He thought it was a good opportunity to try something new, so he agreed and met his mentor, Dicky from Tin Shui Wai Peace Evangelical Centre.

Walk With Love

“When I was ten years old my family and I moved from the Mainland to Hong Kong. I didn’t understand traditional Chinese characters, my English was poor, and suddenly everything was a challenge. Not surprisingly, my self-confidence plummeted.

My salvation was Christian Action’s After-School Child Care Class at their Mong Kok Service Centre. The tutors helped me with my homework and had me practice and strengthen my weakest areas. Five years later I am in Primary 6, and am proud to announce that I achieved an "A" in all subjects. This September I will start my secondary eduction at one of Yau Tsim Mong District’s best schools!!”
