A Plea for Prayer

I’ve just returned to Hong Kong from Qinghai province and I am very distressed after meeting with the families of two girls that I wrote to you about last year. The girls are Ruo Ruo and Jun Jun, both of whom were doing well but they now face serious medical issues and need your prayers. In Jun Jun’s case it may be life threatening.

Happy New Year Liang Ying!

You may have noticed that on the About page of my blog there is a photo of me holding a beautiful baby. I don't know why Liang Ying was abandoned but the good news is that she was adopted in December! Liang Ying's adoptive parents Shannon and John Silva kindly agreed to share some of their story with us.

We Made Grandma Cry!



High on the Tibetan Plateau, in a small brick house in a sparsely populated village surrounded by hills and grassland, a grandmother breaks down and cries. She has few possessions; the house is not hers and there is no electricity supply, but she is so full of gratitude that she bursts into tears. She has seen with her own eyes that her grand daughter, Dou-Ge, who had been given four months to live, is now healthy and happy. Seeing her grandmother cry makes Dou-Ge cry - so it was a very happy homecoming despite the fact that all our help led to a grandma crying!

How Are The Kids?

Isn't that a question we often ask friends because we're interested in the development of their children?    I'm glad I'm asked that question too, because so many of you care deeply for the kids in our care who have no parents devoted to their growth and development.  I can't give you details of all our 450 plus children, but here's an update on some of the kids I told you about last year.
