Celebrating Years of Blessings

"I lost my Mum when I was 8. For 13 years I lived, and eventually worked in the Children's Home. Without Christian Action, I wouldn't have been able to enter tertiary education and make a living out of my knowledge and academic qualification!" Zhaxi, one of our Qinghai children shared those words on the stage in our Vision-Sharing luncheon.

Every year, we invite supporters, friends and our Qinghai children to our luncheon as we give praise to God for his goodness, and celebrate our work in transforming the lives of so many children. This year, the function began with a video that brought greetings from over 15 of our adoptees' who are now scattered around the world. Their smiles, words, and happy faces boosted the joyful event! I happily took the opportunity to reminisce about our ministry in Qinghai, giving our guests wonderful updates of our programmes, as well as the new partnerships both locally and internationally. Then, Rev. Dr. Sam Lai, a good friend of mine, who joined our recent vision sharing trip to Qinghai, talked about the uniqueness of Christian Action and his wonderful experience of witnessing God's blessing in Qinghai.

The highlight of the afternoon was definitely the sharing of Zhaxi. After experiencing a rough childhood, he found hope through Christian Action when he was sent to Huangnan Children's Home at the age of 13. This helped fulfil his dream of a better future, which he was able to achieve! He became a qualified physiotherapist and now spends his time working with us at the Xining Social Welfare Institute. He is paying it forward by giving back to our children with disabilities. I could see how his story touched every heart in the room. Zhaxi, and others like him, who have come back to serve, continue to be a source of strength and motivation for me in our mission.

Towards the end of the luncheon, Shannon White, our wonderful and engaging MC and father of our adoptee Maddie, urged our guests to continue supporting our meaningful work. We were so thankful to God that we received significant donations by the end of the day!

Without a doubt, our luncheon was a resounding success, thanks to the hard work and persistence of our Christian Action team, as well as the support of our honourable guests! I am confident that we will continue to be blessed for the precious lives of the children and teens under our care. Likewise, I pray that God will send forth his ten-fold blessing in the lives of all those who have supported our cause.
