New Places, New Homes

2019 has been a year of many changes for Christian Action! Aside from the big move to our new home at Choi Wan, I am happy to tell you that two of our centres have had significant changes over the past few months - the Mong Kok Service Centre and the On Tai Service Centre.

Our Mong Kok Centre opened its new home in May. It's a little smaller than our previous space, but we now have it all to ourselves! We shared some common areas in the previous centre. One was with a church on the weekends. It greatly limited the number of our activities. But now we have more flexibility and can run a variety of weekend programmes for the women and children we serve. For example, we have just conducted some cooking classes and DIY handicraft workshops.

I am so glad that our service users are also enjoying their new home as it gives them a warm feeling when they visit the centre.

On the other hand, our Sau Mau Ping centre, which was our home for more than a decade, had to find a new location due to the changes within the district. The transition was quite challenging as we had to move during the summer, at a time when students are looking for fun activities. But God has been so wonderful and blessed us with an even bigger space at On Tai Estate where our new community welcomed us with open arms.

The most exciting thing is that our new centre is big enough to handle the large scale activities such as kickboxing classes, handicraft workshops, guitar classes and a whole lot more. We have been planning a Carnival and a series of festive celebration activities for our new neighbours. I am positive that this will become a new and comfortable hub where everyone can visit and mingle with others. We believe this will contribute to the building of a harmonious community within On Tai Estate and the nearby areas.

I encourage you to drop by our new centres! These are concrete testimonies of our commitment to giving the very best to everyone we serve. I pray that more people will come to our new centres and be empowered and loved by our hardworking staff.
