A New Branch for our Birds!

Praise God that we recently opened our third Community Sales Outlet! It will serve underprivileged groups and neighbourhood residents. It is another “branch” of our “mustard tree” where “birds” can perch. Trees can and do grow from the smallest seeds! (Matthew 13:31-32) How beautiful is the Kingdom of God?

The “birds” are the staff we employ and the low-income families who can find affordable necessities in our stores. Our employees come from disadvantaged groups such as new arrivals, the disabled, and youth with little education, so they cannot find work. Working at our stores gives them dignity because they are earning a living.

Our Social Enterprise Department has worked tirelessly to open this third outlet store in Kwun Tong. Our Sheung Shui and Tin Shui Wai branches have also been involved. Our outlets are supported by the “Enhancing Self-Reliance Through District Partnership Programmes” for social enterprises by the Home Affairs Department.

The Community Sales Outlets would not be possible without our generous donors who donate the samples and left-over goods for this purpose. We are able to sell the items at 30-50% below market value. They include brand new toys, stationery, bags, small electrical appliances, kitchenware and apparel. All this is a blessing to the grassroots communities in Hong Kong.

I encourage you to visit our new outlet as soon as you can! Even though the store is small - only 280 square feet - you will definitely feel the love and hard work put into the social enterprise. Please come and purchase something to support the “birds” (the underprivileged groups) who perch on the branch of Christian Action. We’re opened Mondays to Sundays and Public Holidays, 10:00am to 7:00pm. The address is: Shop 41A, Yue Man Shopping Centre, 300-302 Ngau Tau Kok Road, Kwun Tong, Kowloon, Hong Kong.
