Set Yourself in Motion for Success
“I am so excited to gain a better understanding of different job roles so that I can specialise in a desired career path of my choosing. All the workshop sessions were designed to teach or to introduce practical skills, techniques or ideas. We were encouraged to ask questions of the guest speakers, and they answered our questions with helpful responses. I liked the casual and friendly atmosphere during workshop sessions.” – Sridika, a Dream Workshops participant.
I have been taught since my youth that one of life’s keys to success is to take personal responsibility for career planning. The younger a student can start this preparation the better, because it will give them more time to identify and reach their career goals.
With this in mind, we held a variety of fun and highly interactive Dream Workshops for ethnic minority junior and senior high-school students. The workshops were held via Zoom in March and April this year and were completely free.
Each workshop was dedicated to a different topic. These included: the Beauty Industry; Film Industry; Health Care, Law Enforcement; Preparation for DSE; Social Services; the Teaching Profession; Translation Services and Career Development.
The feedback we received was that the workshops were a huge success! It is my prayer that a seed has been planted in the minds of the ethnic minority students and that they will have found the courage to pursue their dreams, to step out and plant their feet firmly in the steps that have been laid out before them!

“I enjoyed teaching the students what steps they needed to take in order to become a Police Officer. They responded enthusiastically and asked tons of questions. They were also concerned that their limited Chinese language skills may hold them back. I hope the sharing helped them to plan ahead and apply themselves.” – A Sergeant representing the HK Police Force
