God Plans Wonderful Ways

I love watching the Lord work wonders in the lives of our children in Qinghai. Muyang, for example, is a very special young man who I've known for the last 18 years.
I love watching the Lord work wonders in the lives of our children in Qinghai. Muyang, for example, is a very special young man who I've known for the last 18 years.
Last month, we hosted two Thanksgiving Celebration Dinners for our Qinghai Programme’s donors and supporters. The theme was “Champion Building” and we highlighted the young Champions from Qinghai that Christian Action has helped bring up over the years.
“When I was lost, she was always there for me. She listened intently and then helped me to see my challenges in a more positive light. She led me out of the woods and because of her, I am now a much stronger person.” - Fong Fong, on the pivotal role our social worker Ada played in her life.
Shortly after immigrating to Hong Kong, Fong Fong was swindled out of nearly all her meagre savings. Then her husband passed away, leaving her and their young daughter practically penniless.
“I see myself in these children. Whenever they throw a tantrum while doing homework I tell them, ‘after you’ve grown up, you’ll know how great it is having someone to teach you and a place you can call home.’ I can’t thank Ms. Tam and Ms. Lee enough for the time they spent with me.” - Ben.
To my great joy, Ben, formerly a child in our After-School Child Care Service programme, has joined Christian Action (CA) as a full-time employee and mentor to our underprivileged kids!
I strongly believe that God created each one of us to do good work for His glory and that He has a job for everyone to do. For this reason I am elated that Christian Action has been helping individuals find gainful employment since 1993.
For example, Ms. Song is a middle aged woman whose daughter is in secondary school. Now that her daughter is older Ms. Song wanted to find full-time employment. She attended CA’s job fair in October, which our Training Services Division organised. Over 30 hiring companies and 1,000 job seekers attended the job fair.
