Sow in Tears, Reap in Joy

Standing in front of me was Mr. Walter Hung - he is the former President, Rotary Club of Kwun Tong. Twenty-seven years ago, that full-grown man was a child served by Christian Action!

On April 20 Walter and Club members paid a visit to our new headquarters at Choi Wan to learn about our services. When Walter met the young children in our after-school childcare programme, he reminisced about his childhood in Christian Action, and how our New Arrivals Programme had helped him climb from the lowest valley in his early years to the top of the academic mountain with flying colours in his later years.

Refugee Renaissance for World Refugee Day

I am happy to announce that Christian Action’s newly renovated Centre for Refugees (CFR) is ready to open its doors and welcome back Hong Kong’s asylum seekers and refugees in time for World Refugee Day on June 20!

After leaving our Xining Children’s Home in 2010, Leah has continued to thrive. She is a straight-A student in her seventh-grade class.

A Witness of Faith

Mr. Anthony Bux, a Kwun Tong District Councillor and elected member, has announced that he will resign in June so that he can focus on combating a serious illness.

When we received the news about his health, our staff and I were deeply saddened and very worried. Anthony has been a long-term friend of Christian Action, and for six years he has been passionate about serving the community. I vividly remember the beginning of our journey. It began with the fight to retain the site of our former headquarters at Kai Tak Open Camp. Anthony later became one of our companions in a year-long negotiation with the government about the site of our new headquarters at Choi Wan.
