A Harvest of Happiness

“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labour.” (Ecclesiastes 4:9)

The above Bible verse pretty much sums up the journey of our partnership with the Employees Retraining Board (ERB) over the past 27 years, where we join hands to help pull people out of unemployment or under-employment, and transform the lives of the helpless. I was excited to learn that three of our trainers have recently been honoured with an award in the ERB Annual Award Presentation Ceremony 2020-21 for their teaching accomplishments.

Love Can Change Lives

“In the past, I was selfish and mean. For example, as a gold card holder, I would file a complaint to the airline company when I saw a silver card holder receiving the same service as I did,” Christian Action volunteer, Angel, explaining how God has changed her heart.

Angel worked in investment banking. Seven years ago, God led her to volunteer as an English tutor and mentor to a tight knit group of boys at our Mong Kok Service Centre. Her investment in their lives has paid dividends in every sphere of their lives.

What the Founder of Sports 100, a Hong Kong based collective of sports coaches, does understand, is that great things can happen with team work! Moved by the plight of Hong Kong’s underprivileged children, Mr Oliver recently donated his time and skills through our Child Development Fund (CDF) to run a Sports Leadership Programme for a select group of our teens.

Food for the Soul

Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst." (John 6:35)

Christian Action recently arranged a big home visit event with 70 families who live below the poverty line. During the event I met Ah Wah, who we’ve been serving at our Mong Kok Service Centre. We presented her with a goodie bag of necessities and a brand-new rice cooker purchased by IN166 of Invision Charity Foundation.
