Young people today face completely different challenges to those of my teenage years. I never had to be concerned about global warming - it was almost a foreign idea.
Today I not only know about it, I can actively do something about it!

For the last 17 years my annual tours to Qinghai have been busy and exhausting. The mid-September tour this year included meetings, a philanthropic forum and several ceremonies. Despite the tight schedule, I was glad to catch up with one of our supporters, Clara, younger sister of our Board Member, Dr. Yue. Tender-hearted Clara has personally adopted two children. She has been supporting our Education Grant Programme for many years, and we have been truly blessed to have someone like her catch our vision. Since 1993 Christian Action has served the unemployed by training and equipping them with new or better skills. We offer more than 150 courses, including a Foundation Certificate in Local Cafe Kitchen Assistant Training. That was ironic because our own canteen had to close down in 2015, leaving hundreds of employees and training students without that valuable service.

Each year Marlon and I visit the United States, a highlight is our time with Elizabeth Styffe. Elizabeth is the Director of Global HIV/AIDS and Orphan Care Ministry at Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California. She has proven to be an encouraging and vital friend of Christian Action.

After over two decades in the corporate sector, Alice Li was a welcome addition to our team in 2000. While many seek to make big bucks in a large corporation, Alice had a longing to do something different, something which is not ‘normal' in our city, based as it is on profit and loss. Alice wanted to serve others.
